Connect your assistant

This page covers single-image DTF jobs prepared as one exact PNG; other products and finished sheets use the existing products, builder and upload routes. Check your assistant's capabilities and file access first, then connect with short-lived assistant access — the sign-in session and the print:prepare grant (up to 30 minutes) are different things.

1. Confirm the job and prepare the exact PNG

Confirm the intended product, individual design size and total copies. Three copies of one design and three printed sheets are different quantities.
Prepare the exact PNG before any consent: a transparent PNG at 300 pixels per inch of the final size, following the artwork and file-format guide.

2. Check your host's capabilities

For the MCP route, confirm a supported remote OAuth connection and a supported file path: native attachment, direct signed upload or authenticated owner upload. If your host uses the browser workspace instead, MCP is not required; follow stage 4 and verify the supported browser file path.

Run the preflight check when a browser will select the file. It inspects only the selected file's bytes in that browser: no transfer, no print approval, no sign-in. It is not required for a native attachment, signed PUT or owner upload.
Native file handoff or a direct signed PUT may be used only if your host genuinely supports them; otherwise use the existing authenticated owner upload.
A file in the host's workspace may not be visible to a browser. Do not assume cloud storage and browser storage are shared; verify the supported file access path before relying on it.

3. Set up the connection

The exact endpoint for every host below is https://edgevinyl.akwigglebutts.com/api/agents/mcp. Sign into your original EdgeVinyl customer account and approve print:prepare for up to 30 minutes. Follow the connection and file-transfer guide for file handling. Labels and menus vary between hosts.

Dot / ChatGPT

If Blue Moose Print Connection is already available in your account, reuse it. Otherwise set it up once with the supported remote MCP setup at the published endpoint above. An installed skill does not establish a connection or file access. Do not create a second connection for the same account, reinstall, or paste credentials; first-time setup is legitimate. If the tools are absent or the connection fails, use the browser fallback in stage 4 rather than claim you are connected.

Claude

Go to Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector (labels vary). Add the remote MCP URL above and follow the supported sign-in. Do not override the OAuth method or guess secrets. See Claude's connector documentation.

Grok Bot / Grok

Use the supported Connect apps / custom remote MCP setup: add the same URL and complete the intended account sign-in. Settings vary by host; this does not mean the connection is automatically installed or verified. See Grok connectors and Grok Bot computer and apps.

OpenClaw-like agents

Use the supported saved remote MCP configuration or Control UI with Streamable HTTP and OAuth, signing in as the personal customer rather than with another person's shared credential. Follow the official transport and OAuth documentation rather than shell commands or gateway changes.

Connector setup can be reused after the first time, but the authorization still expires. No actual Dot, Claude, Grok or OpenClaw success is currently verified: this guidance comes from host documentation, not tested interoperability.

4. If the connector or file route is unavailable

Open assistant access and use the supported browser file chooser or site tools. The owner can select the exact prepared file themselves when the host cannot transfer it. Ordinary Products and DTF builder pages, finished-sheet upload and shop help remain available for unsupported work.

Never place tokens, cookies or signed upload URLs in ordinary chat, and never use fake file descriptors or a provenance bypass.

5. Quote, review, save one draft

Live quote. The assistant uses the live catalog, layout and quote; read current options and pricing from the storefront.
Owner review. You review the exact artwork, layout, price and reproduction rights in the shop before the unpaid draft is saved.
One recoverable draft. Save one unpaid draft keyed to the original request. After an interruption or consent expiry, resume the saved job in your account — do not create duplicates.
Checkout stays yours. You complete hosted checkout separately. The assistant makes no payment, no production and no shipping decision. Quotes above $500 require staff review; tax and shipping are separate.
